Yes, it is very original and unique but it has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with Shu Uemura. This is not what Shu Uemura is looking for in this contest. Also, just because someone has worked for numerous designers and magazines doesn't mean much when they completely miss what the client wants and in this case what Shu Uemura wants. The concept behind this contest is the use of Irondesign and creating texture. The artist failed in this regard.
Alejandro doesnt want to say anything to this stupid comment, but as his friend i have to say something! Alejandro has worked on Victoria Secret, Voge, In Style, V magazine, Feria for Lorial adds, Pantene adds, Luomo Voge and has done hair for Vanessa Carlton, Fran Dresier, Parris Hilton, Kimora Lee and many many more. Aslo he has done runway shows for every major designer in the world buddy! I would keep your unexperienced comments to your self. The joke is on you!
The texture may be intentional, but it doesn't look good. It looks like dry hair with static electricity. A sleek finish would have been more in line with the Japanese & Shu Umera aesthetic. Not a full committment to the look. See Shu Umera's website and brochure. The texture must be an attempt to make two ponytails seem more technically advanced. I still think the texture is a misstep; a misstep that will benefit the other entrants. (cue diabolical laughter)
